Encouraging your child to read during the summer can be a challenge. With distractions of camp, swimming and outdoor activities, summer reading often takes a backseat. However, reading during school breaks is the best way to maintain and develop your child's literacy. Redhawks Read! was created to help motivate Yavneh students to read this summer, while supporting the school library. All students who participate will receive prizes, and each student that raises over $25 will be able to select a book from the Yavneh library to be dedicated in his or her honor.
Here are the steps to get your child on the path toward reading, succeeding, and winning prizes:
STEP 1: • Ask your child to create a reading goal. For example, "I will read 5 books this summer." Then, click this link: GOAL FORM to register your child's goal.
STEP 2: • Help your child share his/her goal with friends and family. For example, To My Family, I have pledged to read 5 books this summer. Please consider sponsoring my reading by completing this pledge form
All donations made to Redhawks Read! will be matched by a generous Yavneh family, so your gift will have an even greater impact. All proceeds will benefit Yavneh's library.
