![]() “Chanoch L’naar al pi darko” -educating each child according to his/her capabilities is the driving force behind the early childhood experience. It is an enriching, exciting and nurturing education that will prepare them cognitively, intellectually, socially and spiritually for the future. Not only do our children learn to do things individually, but also, together, and as part of a small “community.” It is important to foster each child’s ability to problem solve, negotiate and use their imagination to master educational and social issues. Moreover, we provide opportunities for critical thinking, confidence building and a love of learning. The classroom environment has been purposely created to be child-friendly and inviting. We have “centers” that enable children to explore, experiment, experience and participate in a variety of subjects, such as: creative writing, reading, woodwork, music, art, drama, math, cooking, computers and an innovative Israel center. Judaic studies come alive through a progressive, age appropriate curriculum that instills Ahavat Torah - a love of learning and Ahavat Haaretz - a love of Eretz Yisroel. Children experience Parshat Hashavuah in a lively, entertaining way that captures their curiosity while communicating important Torah concepts. Chagim come alive through drama, song, stories, visuals and special events throughout the year. For example, animals may parade around the school for Parshat Noach. On Yom Haatzmaut, we have the children take a mock trip to Israel. Each year brings new chesed projects and activities that instill the values of good Middot and Derech Eretz. In addition, children are exposed to Hebrew language through conversation, songs and writing. Our general studies curriculum is equally as dynamic. We offer a balanced literacy program, enriched with writing, phonic awareness and letter recognition. Manipulatives and educational materials help children learn through their senses and develop their fine and gross motor skills. The early childhood program fosters skills so children can learn, express, create and build a well-rounded knowledge base that they will be able to expand upon in years to come. |
